      Hello killifish games, I love playing atlantic fleet! Let me state that first. but you know how you play a game over and over and it sooner orator gets boring! I have some good advice that would probably make your game make it seem interesting. Add in some German carriers. It’s an unfair battle when only the British has carriers. I know Zeppelin was one of them so don’t reply saying you can’t! Then also add more German battleships. You only have the greatest ever known. But what about ships from ww1. Most of the British ships in Atlantic fleet served in WW1. {I know my facts.} There is a lot more of german ships you could add, and British warships to! All I’m asking if you could make a new update and release this soon so I, and many other who already have it would get that excitement feeling while playing. And for new buyers, they would want to see more action! Thank you killer fish games for reading!

        Also another thing, can you add another game like Mediterranean Fleet. With the Italian and British warships. Missions from BOTH sides and just like how you created Atlantic Fleet.

      I noticed the kings marine has no aircraft careiers in the game however the did have a few historicly how come they are not avalible and could you add them?

        Although the Kriegsmarine constructed an aircraft carrier, it was never operational. So we choose not to add it.
        The H39 and Lion class battleships were also never built, but there were added as “Easter Eggs” for the original game.

    Do you feel the bomb too powerful? It is much more efficient than torpedo, which is not so realistic. Sometimes my battleship takes heavy damage from a near miss. I think you should tweak the damage.

    Can you enable AI carriers to launch aircraft at night?

    Will we have optional texture quality on mobile device? The texture of ships doesn’t look good sometimes.

    By the way, can you tell me some new features in next update for mobile/PC version?

      Torpedos are only useful in ASW, In reality one must have torpedo bombers attacking in groups with one group at front and one group via side-It’s a tactic

      As for bombers that lone bomb probably represents a full squadron

        Aerial torpedoes are quite good now. I can also use them to sink enemy capital ships. But bombs are so powerful that even a near miss can do great damage.

        Heavy armor seems unable to protect battleship from bombs in the game. Why can a light bomb(250lb) or even a near miss cause flooding and list?

        In fact, torpedoes are more often used to sink capital ships.

        They may be most useful in ASW, but they can also easily knock out destroyers and merchants. They can slow down any ship that gets hit by them. Do you also realize that a salvo is enough to sink a battleship?

    Does Germany have any monitors?(Small ships with litte armour but Battleship size guns-(Kind of like an escort Battleship)

      Yes, they did have river monitor warships during WW2, but they were a relatively minor detail of the Kriegsmarine.

          Like it was IRL? ?And It’s actually Pretty easy,Plus you don’t need many,A battleship or 2,Some carriers.Which you can get from the Beginning.And you’re sinking many u-boats which can gain up a lot quickly.Plus German surface ships are sunk Enough to allow for a Capital ship,But you only need Carriers,Battleships? You can do with 2.

            Aircraft carriers do such a good job killing subs and capital ships-especially when 3-5 turn up the decent mobility and aircraft that do stand off attacks so that you don’t have to risk yourself and excellency when hiding behind destroyer screen against battleships – I sunk all capital ships with carriers. The only problem is that the point of carriers is to be something like this:
            The typical gun fire ranges on later battleships was about 46miles or something like that- a battleship is meant to fire on a target at long range where the enemy couldn’t strike back- however with the dawn of the carrier battleships no longer have this advantage because aircraft could have ranges over 100 miles only limited by how much fuel their aircraft could carry which meant that battleships would only be the best unit for surface encounter at closer range if it could ever catch an enemy before the aircraft carrier got it.

            Yeah 26 miles although I do remember YAMATO having 46 miles or something but thats a later battleship

          A U-boat isn’t as expensive and doesn’t need as much resources to make as a battleship, so amount of renown they give you is fine. Also, you’ll probably be able to earn more renown if you sink Type 21 U-boats than Type 7’s and 9’s, but the Type 21’s only start appearing by late 1943.

    I just had an idea that I kinda wanted to put out here: what if killerfish made a tank game? First one would Eastern Battalion in the struggle for the defense and conquer of the Soviet Union with the Soviets and the Germans. It would be turn based, but I’m not sure how that would work. You could take cover behind buildings and rocks. Just an idea I wanted to put out there.

      P.S I some how sunk 115 U-boats by 1941 even though there are only 100 playable U-boats in the game available at that date and none of them are the U-250x

    I absolutely love both Pacific and Atlantic Fleet and i just wanted to say that you should go beyond ww2 and think about the Korean war , Veitnam War or even modern day naval warfare

      I think the technology is so different it would be a totally different game you would never even see the enemy & computer Guided missiles are not anything like using an educated guess with hurling a shell a few miles in the dark & watching splashes.
      Also modern ships have no character really there just practical technology platforms a bit like Korean cars.
      How about a fun package to wake up Atlantic fleet fans..put a giant modern liner in or some torpedo boats..Yamato or a few drednoughts. Where is the Iowa….
      Can we have the optional power to choose starting positions in custom mode.
      & a cpu vs cpu mode so we can set up & watch a custom battle.

    Why aren’t there any cruse liners like rms Olympic or hospital ships like hmhs britannic every country had cruse liners and hospital ships and most of the ships in Atlantic fleet are from ww1 any way so why can’t you add in hmhs britannic which sunk in 1916 so please add in cruse liners and hospital ships but they are like troop transports and oil tankers as well as cargo ships which are in Atlantic fleet so please add them

    When will you release 1.13 update for Android and IOS, Killerfish? Many bugs aren’t fixed yet in 1.12, such as the Nelson secondary gun orientations and crew in the air. I know you have fixed them on PC but mobile version also needs these fixes and improvements.

    By the way, will modders be able to mod the game? Is a game editor or something possible?

    Been playing PacFlt quite often recently, and I think it’s a shame it’s so limited… think of all of the battles that could be played out, the endless scope of a dynamic campaign, the hundreds of warship classes… can you at least confirm you are considering it, or justify why not?

    Oh and can you give the Allied AI in the BotA a sense of fleets? I’m getting a little tiresome of hundreds of identical battles between one of my JPs and a small convoy of one destroyer and a handful of merchants. Can you make them consider putting together fleets of say a cruiser and three destroyers? I find that this would be much more engaging. Could you also consider giving a few preset formations so that we can select where we want our ships? It is irritating to have two destroyers in a line then a capital ship offset to one side whereas I’m sure in real life a line abreast of astern would be favourable.

            Probably. I mean, very ones asking for it and it’s a great idea. I mean besides ww1, what other epic naval wars were there. Also, if PF2 is confirmed, this will be the 3rd or 2nd Pacific Fleet has been redone

          who doesn’t like a carrier that can take a 1000lb bomb and still be operational plus since it’s not a battleship in any way shape form or past form it’ll probably only cost 50,000 renown unlike shinano

            Ok…..

            Just because it has an armored flight deck doesn’t mean that the Hull and inner workings are any tougher…. At all….

            Plus it had worse damage control and pretty much worse everything except deck armor when compared to the Essex.

            well Taiho has better armour including hull compared to essex but the crew wasn’t well trained The torpedo that hit taiho didn’t do much damage but the damage control crew couldn’t contain it Taiho sank 9 hours after she was hit and continued to launch aircraft while damaged

            Was still worse in pretty much every way except armor

            As for still launching planes,that’s not really impressive seeing as it was one lucky torpedo hit,It took quite some time before the Gas vapors finally caused a detonation.

        Yes, please. It will be awesome with large variety of ships. Also, the SimHQ review said your next game will be realtime. Is this game going to be realtime? I can’t wait to have epic carrier battles with airplanes all over the sky!

        Now now guys,It’s not confirmed yet,They’re saying they want to come back to it at sone point

        They could be hinting at it or they could just be saying they want to head back to the pacific at some point

        But I’m hoping it’s a hint because that’d be one interesting dynamic campaign

        First of all, outstanding job so far! I loved PF and played it over and over.

        Just one question, what’s next? The PC version has been released and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen talk about new features and stuff. I would like to see more ships and possibly other nations.

    Looks like we got all were going to get out of this game..
    It has a good following I’d like to see it built on rather than other versions or number 2 etc…I don’t want Pacific fleet but I can’t use the British battleships..it’s this or that buy it again for this part of the world..how about just adding more content that’s wanted like the vanguard & French or Italian ships then add Japanese ships I don’t see the loyal costumers being unwilling to pay for extra ships…it’s a mature costumer bace so isn’t it better to make one game really good & infinatly more variable by having Pacific & Atlantic ships but sell the upgrade rather than having different games that are in themselves good but limited…people are forgetting this game there are no new comments are they.its a great bace can’t it be built on rather than segmenting ships to different games.

      If I remember correctly there’s gonna be many major gameplay changes in the next game so this entire idea wouldn’t work,can’t add the new gameplay mechanics onto the Atlantic fleet engine. And any new ships are built for that engine

      This is guessing that it is a new new engine,or at least an upgraded one

    Can you release a game editor so that we can adjust the parameters of the units and weapons (especially Bismarck)? I know you enhanced German ships for balance but I prefer a realistic game…

    By the way, PLEASE release the next update for Android and IOS. A few bug fixes will be OK. The crew in the air always bother me. It couldn’t be better if mobile version could get some improvements on PC.

      Unfortunately a game editor is not a trivial thing to add to Atlantic Fleet…
      Instead we are now working on our next game and are building it to support extensive modding capabilities. At a minimum we plan to allow the editing of most unit, weapon, sensor, environment and mission/campaign parameters.

    Can you guys have an option to allow an air patrol for carriers for example players could set for example ? Or an option to allow carriers to spawn out side of battleship range – carriers are only good because they had a 200 mile range on their aircraft whilst a ship like YAMATO would only have under 50.

        It is July so when is the announcement? Also this is something I noticed on ships like the King George 5 class and the Lion class the ships show no damage on the side of the ship. For example all torpedo holes appear on the deck not on the side of the hull where the torpedo hit.

    Hi! Great work Killerfish Team – jour games are awesome! I read posts above and no one told about importand thing – ships in normal terms use their weapons at the same time: main guns, secondary guns, torps, depth charges, airplanes. So if battleship in game use his main battery cannot use secondaries to repel destroyers or fight with another ships on the other side. I think ships should have at least possibility to use both main and secondary guns (one shot each) in one turn. This will correspond with they real firepower. If you plann in future to do game with WWI era ships this problem will be bigger. Many battleships and armored cruisers was armed with only 2 – 4 heavy cannons and many-gun medium calliber side bateries. Next problem – all ships shooting one salvo in one turn. 406mm (16 inch) Mark 7 naval gun fires shell in 30 s. period (one of the fastest in this class). 5”/38 caliber gun of US destroyers shots 15 rounds in one minute so one shell in every 4 seconds. In game both guns have the same rate of fire – so this is the field for future work I think. But as I said game is awesome an I cant wait Pacyfic Fleet 2 on my PC. Cheers!

      We agree that the primary and secondary guns are limited.
      Our biggest concern with allowing multiple attacks per ship, per turn is that it can dramatically increase the turn cycle in an already fairly slow-paced turn-based game.

        Maybe if there is just an extra option to fire both main and secondaries at the one target, with the shell cam only on the main shells, and the camera hovering above the target for a few extra seconds as the secondaries arrive??

    Yes, it will lengthen the turn some but will give much more realistic firepower relations between ships. I think it could be optional to use a secondaries with same turn with main guns – in game options. In case of rate of fire – maybe this solution will be good: heavy (battleship main guns) fire every second turn (first turn shoot, second wait, next shoot and next wait, and so on…). Cruiser level guns shooting once every turn, – like now in game. Destroyer level guns fire once a turn but fires two shells in one action – so if you press FIRE gun fire two times in short sequence, shells fly together like one salvo but second shell with about half second delay – it should be possible with existing game engine. Submarines should fire guns once per turn – like now happens in game. This will give much more realistic experience. How you see these ideas?

        Still the annocumeent will be appreciated. Also is there a way to win as the German navy after December 7th 1941 with the 700,000 ton requirement? I have been play BOTA in hard mode and I’m at 611,000 tones with half a year left in the game.

        Hi Killerfish, Can you please tell me why in Battle of The Atlantic game mode ( when playing Germans but I’m quite sure it happens in both sides ), why it is always the same type of ships that are fighting against the same type of enemy ships. I mean, for example ; when I start a battle with Bismarck or Tirpitz, it’s always against destroyers or merchants, never against others battleships ( not even once ) neither submarines. When I start with submarines, always against destroyers , or merchants and rarely battleships. When I play my destroyers, always against battleships. When I play the cruisers like Gneisenau , it is all the time against submarines. So my question is , Why isn’t it random , why isn’t it every type of ships against every type of ships too ?

          I’m going to guess an answer here. Ironman666, by the time you commission a Bismarch-class, most of the British capital ships will already be on the coral and so the remaining vessels have less of a chance of encountering your battleships. I’ve usually sunk either a battleship or a carrier by November ’39 if I play submarines, and when playing the Scharnhorst-class battlecruisers I usually find I’m against surface ships – destroyers and cruisers. As for destroyers I cannot say as I never send out any conventional cruiser or destroyer without a battleship or an armoured cruiser (‘panzerschiffe’) present.

          I think it’s bad luck I have played both sides & faught all sorts.
          It is however much more common to come up against subs in the allied mode & destroyer convoys if your playing German side.
          In fact the Allied mode is almost unplayable for me as it’s just an exercise in chasing subs again & again hundreds then very rarely a bigger warship..
          & the German side is you vs the Royal Air Force so I don’t play battle of Atlantic mode.

          Battle of the Atlantic uses the historical rosters of ships.
          The Germans don’t get the Bismarck and Tirpitz until later in the war and unlike the British, they have much fewer capital ships to field.
          This results in the Germans having to go up against many British capital ships (and escorts) and the British having to go up against many u-boats.

          If the AI has purchased any battleships, you’ll have a chance to run into them if they happen to be in the same zone as your ships.

    I also think that the damages should be more realistic like the breaking in half, the torrets when hit should fly off into the sea and also there should be aquatic life in the sea and their reactions when in battle. What do you all think?

    It’s not going to happen is it….nothing new in ages..
    I’d like to see some ww1 battleships added French & Italian too because the German side is quite limited..also vanguard (the last battleship from the uk)

That means having it in a state that we’re happy to reveal to the community and knowing enough about its design and features in order to correctly communicate what is coming.

    Do you have any thoughts about adding shore bombardment to Atlantic Fleet? I mean, I know there weren’t many recorded accounts of shores being bombarded in or near Europe, but I’m just pointing it out. Also, bringing up that point, are there going to be shore guns in Pacific fleet? Or have I just not noticed them?

      No plans to add shore bombardment to Atlantic Fleet at this time.
      Also there are no shore guns in Pacific Fleet, only the defending aircraft which tend to be much more dangerous.

    Hello Killerfish. I’ve been playing your game since Pacific Fleet was in its infancy. I am very excited for your next game, and looking at your previous games, I am hoping for a very good game! Maybe it might be a WW1 style game, or another Pacific Fleet game, and less likely, a Modern Fleet or a futuristic fleet game. Whatever it is, I hope its gonna be great!
