Found a bug. In custom battle I’m trying set the weather to sunny but it keeps defaulting to snowing and cloudy. I can’t change it either to any other weather.
Having one small trouble with the game–I won a BotA campaign playing as the Germans. It said I could now use the H-39s for BotA. Scrolling through the ships again in BotA, the H-39 is nowhere to be found. What’s up with this?
Experienced the same. Doesn’t make much sense to provide a new ship in a campaign that is already over. However, as soon as you start a *new* BotA, the H39 is listed and will be available in 1942.
how did you do it? after the sub exploded my escort i sunk the u boat by converging all my merchant ships towards it and repeatedly ramming until it happened to surface when a merchant ship was right above it. but it crashed my game that i have to close it and restart a new one. but that was epic!
I don’t know if it was intentional or if it was simply weaving to evade torpedoes and got lucky, but it was certainly annoying!

I have found an error: the damage report from the Z1 Leberecht Maas-class destroyers only shows data for A, B, C and D turrets despite the fact that the destroyer has 5.
I have 2 bugs ,first one crew mqn of bogue class is stands in the air and second the german dd damage report :the dds 1934a 1936 and 1936b have only four turrets the dds 1936a and 1936 a mob have five turrets thats wrong
Also, can the ability to capture ships possibly be added? Because not only are we missing out on intriguing missions such as U-110, U-505 and U-570 but I also find that, in the United Kingdom box, my surface raiders are breaking the Cruiser Rules almost daily!
I also think that the 81,000t Queen Mary-class troop transports should be included as a two-ship special – how much would it help Germany to sink one of those?
I’ve had another idea – what about minelayers, where if deployed and mines are laid enemy ships are then struck – perhaps even featuring mines during battle with the possibility to evade?
then they would have to add a new class of ships – minesweepers – or add the capability to detect mines for existing ships if that is the case, as well as abilities to avoid mines like degaussing and so and so… BTW I think the 1936A DDs of KG have mines in the ship model…
They do indeed, but they are unusable. I would like to see them used as well as minelaying subs, cruisers like the Abdiel-class as well as air-dropped mines for when you read causes of actual ship loss in real life, quite a few were lost to mines in the Atlantic and the fact that they can’t sink ships because they are random events doesn’t do them justice. For example out of six RN ships lost in 1939 (CV Courageous, BB Royal Oak, DD Blanche, DD Gipsy, AMC Rawalpindi and DD Duchess, two were lost to mines (Blanche and Gipsy).
Come to think of it, the addition of some RN AMCs might be quite a good idea to counter Germans HKs as well as possibly more HKs.
is it possible to have a tonnage sunk per ship battle report at the end of each battle? also a ranking by tonnage sunk at the end of the BotA for all ships, might be a great addition too if you may
Oh, and I have two more little niggles, neither of which I’m really complaining about as they both benefit me;
I was attacking a convoy in the Western Approaches when, before anyone had moved or fired (I took the turn first and didn’t move yet) the corvette Abelia exploded and sank. It was undamaged; indeed, it hadn’t been in combat before. I also encountered a glitch where the AI can have two destroyers, Tribal-class, called HMS Gurkha at once (and the same thing happened two both ships!) – so far I have seen one DC and three DDs spontaneously sink like this.
I have also encountered a glitch where an RN carrier (Courageous) lost its flight deck to U-boat torpedo so called on a Sunderland. That Sunderland sank the sub but for the next three turns, RN airstrikes, artillery and even a depth charge run were made on this submarine, which had already sunk. There were no other nearby submarines. I’m not complaining, it acted as a decoy, just thought you ought to know.
Yes, for the corvette: Western Approaches in sunshine (I can’t remember exact time and weather) attacked a convoy – all Large Freighters plus T2 tanker, totaling 7 ships, a DC and an I-class DD. I took the turn first but before I did anything (ships Scharnhorst, Leipzig and Z20), there was a pop and it came up with ‘Abelia sinking’ – so I switched to the ship to find it with a wrecked structure and surrounded by oil and fires.
The two Gurkhas (which must be a glitch as they were both Tribal-class) were with Glowworm, Gipsy and 1 British merchant. U-39 and U-40 attacked at night but they both simultaneously popped and sank, same symptoms as the corvette – I failed to sink the destroyers though as I was too far away so I disengaged.
The last DD I seem to recall was A-class but it was off Kiel and that’s all I can remember.
I was in the middle of attacking an Allied convoy with torpedo planes. The last torpedo plane was hit by AA fire, and I was able to punch my torpedo about a second before the plane hit the water. The torpedo ran longer than it should in a turn, which was the first sign that something was wrong. It then “hit” the side of a destroyer I had been targeting, but just passed right through it. The torpedo just kept running to infinity, and I had to restart my device.
Bugs/Issues
Crown Colony class light cruisers need to show damage for turret B. All other turrets show damage effects when knocked out except for turret B.
I’m experiencing issues where adding Elbing class torpedo boats to a group of German destroyers can cause the the game to freeze up in custom battle. The 3D world appears, but it fails to render the ships and has text from the chart view. A single group of destroyers or a single group of torpedo boats is fine, but mixing torpedo boats AND destroyers causes this problem.
Shouldn’t the Lender class light cruisers Apollo and Amphion be Hobart and Perth respectively? I’ve found that those were the names assigned to the ships prior to WWII when they were transferred to RAN control.
I think the dynamic campaign needs a bit more tweaking. I engaged Scharnhorst and took out its main and forward radars with Berwick. The next turn, Warspite found it with its radars intact, but its turrets A and B were knocked out.
Aircraft are still take AA fire from enemy warships despite the fact they should be out of range. I had a Condor pass over a group of British warships. Several minutes later, the ships were no longer visible, but the Condor was still taking AA fire. This was evident from the explosions following the plane as it flew on.
Suggestions
Can a button be added to the game options that turns off the music during combat similar to the button in Pacific Fleet? This would help prevent players from constantly turning down the music volume prior to entering combat or etc. Just an idea.
After further research, I’ve found that HMS Hood’s 4 inch AA guns possessed illumination rounds. This website forms the basis of this claim (http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_4-45_mk16.htm). Is it possible that star shells would be given to HMS Hood if sufficient evidence is found that it had them? More evidence can be provided (not of the Wikipedia variety).
Fix the location of the mission “Sydney versus Kormoran” sometime in the future so it falls on the map rather than on the table.
Questions
Where are the Revenge class battleships’ other two radar directors? I can only spot the forward director, and it seems that it is the only director that follows the red bearing line.
Excellent reports. Will fix most of these including Revenge directors, she should only have the forward one.
Not sure on Hood’s star shells as the game doesn’t support firing AA guns.
I’ve had an idea – would it be possible to put searchlights on ships during night actions? You could activate them as an action during the movement phase (instead of smoke, say) and have them all follow the aiming line, converging on the targeted ship? Would that be possible (instead of star shells)?
I’m also just curious; I’ve been checking through your Facebook page and have noticed two things:
First of all, where did the bright red colour scheme for what appears to be a C2 go?
Secondly, why do we now only have 20 ships in the BotA when the screenshot from February shows you have 16/40 ships?
Can we have 40 ships available back in the BotA… please? Even just a toggle if it makes it too easy or complex?
C2 paint schemes got changed. Original plan was to support multiple paint schemes per ship but had to scrap this due to mobile device restrictions.
BotA used to be 40 player ships. However we found that the strategic layer of the game got too bogged down and turns got too slow with that many ships to move/manage. We could add a toggle to turn the 40 back on for a slower but easier game.
I would really like the 40-ship BotA… you could always remove the ability to unlock if it makes it too easy, but I always loved the idea of having the entire battle fleet at my fingertips, rather like someone like Chester Nimitz or ABC.
Could you also please consider a hotseat dynamic campaign for two reasons:
Firstly, I think it would be great for two players to really test their skills as fleet commander
Secondly, I want to see how the war would pan out if I was commanding both sides so the ships were a little more… intelligent. Or maybe less so.
Big, big feature and we’re concerned the game might be too slowly paced for 2 players.

Allies: Hms Hawkins class Heavy Crusier,Arethusa and Minotaur class light cruisers, Hms Hermes,Unicorn,Eagle and USS Ranger carriers and USS Rockisland Class and Sangamon Class escort carriers. I have 3 add ons to the game I hope you can add can you add. :First is a torpedo payload for the avenger. :Second Are flags signifying what country the ships are from (Austrailian flag for the Hmas Canberra) Third is a fact section telling about the life of each ship in the (For instance the life of Hms Glowworm) Bugs: (Maybe) while I was playing as Germany in BoTA I didn’t conquer Norway till June and France till August also I had hs293 and Fritz X missles in my payload in late 1940. I have a simple tactic: pick the three most powerful ships in your arsenal (Bismarck, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst or Nelson, Rodney, QE-class or Hood) and keep restarting until you cross their T. Using max zoom on the map and disregarding recommended elevations, target all three BBs on one ship at a time to destroy their main turrets then propulsion. DO NOT SINK THEM! Disable all four battleships like this, keeping a watchful eye on the destroyers and sinking them if they get too close for comfort. If any DDs remain when the BBs are disabled, sink them, then manoeuvre into an advantageous position and aim for magazines and fuel reserves etc., picking off the battlewagons one at a time.
I have found two glitches; the first is that while in BoTA, my battleships Tirpitz and Bismarck were engaged with four destroyers and the Revenge. Nothing is strange about that, except for the fact that two of the destroyers were the exact same ship. I was fighting an a class, an i class and two Gurkhas. Has to be a glitch. The second thing is that while trying to recreate a battle in custom battle mode, that Tirpitz could have possibly fought, which was the interception of convoy PQ-12 and QP-8, I added the ships that would have historically fought, and clicked go. Then the game went all glitchy and froze except I could still move around but there were no ships. I have to exit the game. The ships were (axis): Tirpitz, Admiral Scheer, Z14, Z5, Z7, Z25, and the first two torpedo boats on the list. (allies): DoY, Renown, and four tribal class destroyers. I can send screenshots if you want…
The two Tribal-class destroyers IS a glitch – there is also an L,M-class called Gurkha but I’ve seen two Tribal-class Gurkhas in one match before – I think there’s also two of one of the V-class, possibly Venomous.

1) Avengers operated in the Atlantic as anti-submarine assets only, otherwise we would have given them torpedoes.
2) Might be able to add this, but it would be an all or none option.
3) RAN, RCN and RNZN used the White Ensign during WWII, so they’re already flying correct flags for the period 🙂
4) Something we’d love to add! But it is a lot of research and content.

The occasional 1 hit KOs are most likely a magazine explosion, they can and do happen.

Also, the subsystems page for the Type VII submarine shows they have a 3.4in gun but the attack menu allows you to fire a 3.5in shell.

You can always 100% sink a merchant with one torpedo if you aim for the green cargo boxes
For merchants the flag is randomized it semmes

There is a bug that when you use the Sunderland with bombs the aa of the German ships will be green. I have a ipad

It’s a bit hard to unlock lion class and H class can the requirements be reduced from 3 stars to any amount of stars

Using max zoom on the map and disregarding recommended elevations, target all three BBs on one ship at a time to destroy their main turrets then propulsion. DO NOT SINK THEM! Disable all four battleships like this, keeping a watchful eye on the destroyers and sinking them if they get too close for comfort. If any DDs remain when the BBs are disabled, sink them, then manoeuvre into an advantageous position and aim for magazines and fuel reserves etc., picking off the battlewagons one at a time.
I have found two glitches; the first is that while in BoTA, my battleships Tirpitz and Bismarck were engaged with four destroyers and the Revenge. Nothing is strange about that, except for the fact that two of the destroyers were the exact same ship. I was fighting an a class, an i class and two Gurkhas. Has to be a glitch. The second thing is that while trying to recreate a battle in custom battle mode, that Tirpitz could have possibly fought, which was the interception of convoy PQ-12 and QP-8, I added the ships that would have historically fought, and clicked go. Then the game went all glitchy and froze except I could still move around but there were no ships. I have to exit the game. The ships were (axis): Tirpitz, Admiral Scheer, Z14, Z5, Z7, Z25, and the first two torpedo boats on the list. (allies): DoY, Renown, and four tribal class destroyers. I can send screenshots if you want…
The two Tribal-class destroyers IS a glitch – there is also an L,M-class called Gurkha but I’ve seen two Tribal-class Gurkhas in one match before – I think there’s also two of one of the V-class, possibly Venomous.
Also, would it be possible to add or toggle ship prefixes to names (eg HMS, HMAS, HMNZS, HMCS, USS, DKM)?
We’d like to, but it makes the ship names longer and the ship lists ended up getting very “wordy”.
Can you add ships Kms Emden light crusier, arethusa and emerald class light crusiers, carriers Hermes,Eagle and,Ranger And can you add these other suggestions or at least try 1: torpedo payload for TBF Avenger :2 able to choose Barracuda in custom 3: foreign flags for foreign ships (Austrailian flag for Hmas Austrailia) 4: Fact section telling about the life of each ship and aircraft in the game. 1) Avengers operated in the Atlantic as anti-submarine assets only, otherwise we would have given them torpedoes.
2) Might be able to add this, but it would be an all or none option.
3) RAN, RCN and RNZN used the White Ensign during WWII, so they’re already flying correct flags for the period 🙂
4) Something we’d love to add! But it is a lot of research and content.
barracudas are easier to use much like stukas without the sirens

Have you guys ever considered remaking Pacific Fleet by using the same game engine as Atlantic Fleet with some minor changes? A remake using this engine would be AMAZING.
